Border guards were stopping smugglers with shots in the Chernivtsi region.

Border guards from the Chernivtsi border detachment thwarted another attempt to illegally transport tobacco products across the Romanian-Ukrainian border.

Recently, as part of the implementation of operational information, operational units, and border patrol from the "Krasnoilsk" border guard division, in collaboration with the representatives of the National Police, observed a group of unidentified individuals heading toward the state border while carrying packages.

The smugglers abandoned their goods and fled to evade responsibility, and not even warning shots could deter them.

Border guards detected 18 packages with tobacco products at the scene.

Law enforcement officers seized 9,000 packs of cigarettes without Ukrainian excise tax marks. The value of seized goods is over 400 thousand UAH.
